Sources said he initially gave police a false name but then heard the policemen whispering to each other that he was a fugitive and had given them false information. Though the man was handcuffed, he still managed to jump from a window in Sulaibiya police station, where he was taken after his arrest. He then escaped in a police car, which had been parked outside with the engine running. The man managed to escape and the police car was later found abandoned in Sulaibiya.
